"How do I get my Gemini API Key?"

If you want to use Gemini with this app,  a pre-requisite (right now, for the free version) is having a Google account.

Here are instructions to follow after that:

Then, enter it in the app's settings:

"How can I get my Cerebras API key?"

1. Visit Cerebras Cloud

2. Sign up for an account (currently FREE during beta!)

3. Generate an API key from your dashboard

4. Copy the key and enter it in Janus Settings

"How can I change my API key?"

Simply delete and re-enter the new key

Note: All API key operations  require keychain authentication for security.

"How can I change the name I'm greeted by?"

Within Settings -> General, go and change the text corresponding to the "Your Name" field; here's a screenshot to help you out:

"Where did my chat window go?"

If you find yourself in the Settings screen when the app starts up, or if you unknowingly close the chat window, you can always bring it back by File -> New Window (or, hitting Command-N)

• New conversations: Choose your provider when creating a new chat

• Existing conversations: Each chat stays with its original provider (no mid-conversation switching)

• Keyboard shortcuts: ⌘⌥1 (Gemini) or ⌘⌥2 (Cerebras) when creating new chats

"How do I choose AI personas?"

Janus 2.0 includes four specialized personas:

• General Assistant - Everyday questions and tasks

• Code Expert - Programming and technical help

• Creative Writer - Stories and creative projects

• Research Assistant - Analysis and research

Use keyboard shortcuts ⌘1-4 to switch personas when creating new chats.
